Alright, I say to start off the mod we should focus on simply two factions, Rebels and Imperials.
Balance is going to be a real issue so I think we could go about by simply replacing each unit in the American and Wehrmacht with a Star Wars equivalent. Skin + Sound wise, that would keep gameplay balanced, and we can adjust stats as so, but we have to be careful about messing with balance.
Keeping the units the same, mg, engie, ect. would allow people to play the mod just like company of heroes, we could even keep the resource points the same (just rename them accordingly).
Anyway, thats just my idea on it.

Yeah, pretty much. Want to keep the same general game-play. The one thing I think should change is the hit points or chance to hit. More units, a tad easier to kill, with less resource consumption would make it feel like a galactic conflict.
And since we are speaking about factions, I think the other 2 in place are great candidate for a Old Republic take on things. That would be at the end of this road though. First things first and that's Imperial vs. Rebels.

But keep in mind you can incorpate many of the abilities of the brits and the PE into these factions.
An important example is the Veterancy-gaining. My oppinion in this case is, that the PE veterancy and the standard US veterancy are the best ones. As i think you should not be able to buy veterancy by buying it like the Wehrmacht does or with the captains for the brits. On the other hand the captains would be a great addition for both new factions with their command abilites and their attach possibility

Actually, back to Bobber's point, I'd like to actually get started with the conversion process. I can't do skins to save my life, but I do have a copy of Empire at War, so I could potentially extract the sounds from there for us to use.

in my opinion that sounds like a great place to start imx. It's not my call though cause I don't know whats going on with that stuff and what Zeridian has already accomplished.

Been gone for the weekend, but ok.
I was thinking about that myself, taking the sounds from empire at war. If you want to get started sure! We are probably going to have to make a table set of units and under those columns representing units, correspond the appropriate sound/animation/etc. when we get it. It will eventually fold to include the data paths (directories for files to be stored), but it will be basic. That can wait for now though, good things happening.
